What is energy/Chi? How can it make a difference in your life?

Updated: Feb 27, 2023

Chi is our life force within and of this world. It is what makes things come alive; it is our breath as our first inhale as we enter this world and as our last exhale as we leave this place . Chi is expressed in myriad different shapes, colors and movement. To become more aware of this invisible movement we have to become quite, settled in and open our senses to receive its expression. We experience energy all the time but often don’t have the distinction to notice it in that way. It is not mysterious; it might seem so because we can’t see it. It is quite common sense when you get to know it.

How can one get to experience energy and how will it enhance ones well being?

In Chinese Medicine they have mastered the art of healing with the use of chi. Chinese Medicine not just covers acupuncture and Chinese herbs, but also Qigong, Shiatsu and Tai Chi.

Why learn about chi, you may ask?

It refines the senses to enjoy the beauty of life and its poetry more deeply. A way to connect with oneself and as a tool to stay healthier through life. To be more in tune and balanced. Following the way of the Tao means to live in balance within you and with the seasons of life. It is a way to learn to listen to life itself and the more you can hear and notice the more one can respond accordingly. Chi or energy has so much depth and layers. It is a life long journey to get more intimate with the life force. You are never done learning there is always more to understand and develop. It’s the same with playing an instrument, as one progress, the sense of the music and the mastery there goes in to playing never ends. So you could say that getting to know energy is like learning to play an instrument. The more sensitive the musician becomes the deeper and more refined his play will become. It is the same with our energy. Learning to work with energy only deepens and helps relaxing the body and mind even more. Enhancing and balancing your chi is one of the best ways of health prevention.

Energy is like a river with the water is flowing; when energy moves freely we have health. When there is obstruction in the water like big rocks, branches and trees that has fallen into the river. The water is very strong where it is being stopped and on the other side of the trunk there is more stillness in the water. With energy in this way there is stagnation where the water is being obstructed and weakness on the other side because of lack of flow.

Education in our life force will help us to recognize the flows, stagnation and lack of movement in our bodies, mind and emotions which are all governed by energy. To become a master of your well being on all levels, chi is the connector of the different levels between body, mind and spirit for access to more vitality, peace, aliveness and re connection.

All the programs that we offer here at Divine Therapy have this in common to getting in touch and fine tune our re connection with our energy/chi or life force in different ways.

In Zen Shiatsu and Chi Nei Tsang/Chi Organ Massage are treatments where the balancing of chi is received.

Classes in Tai Chi, Qigong, Meditation and other classes are all different ways one can learn to work with energy for oneself.
